WEBSITES

Having a website built: what is included in the price?

You can only compare prices once it is clear what is being delivered. Pages, copy, payments and maintenance make the difference.

Start with the job of your website.

A one-page site can be enough if you want to introduce your business and receive requests. All the information is then on one page. If you have several services that each need explaining, a website with multiple pages gives more room.

An online shop has a different job. Visitors need to be able to view and order products. That involves payments, stock, order confirmations and setting up VAT and shipping costs. That work goes further than designing a product page.

Three packages, each with its own scope.

PackageOne-offScope
One-page€749One page, your own house style, basic SEO and a mobile view.
Website€1,4956 to 8 pages, written copy and 3 months of all-in maintenance.
Online shop€2,495Payment methods, product pages with stock, order confirmations, VAT and shipping costs. Including 6 months of all-in maintenance.

These are TrompTech’s one-off packages. Every package includes a contact form, online appointment booking and an admin area where you edit text and photos yourself. All amounts exclude VAT. A comparison with another quote is only useful if it includes the same components.

Hosting and changes are different kinds of work.

Hosting makes sure your website runs on TrompTech’s systems. The hosting subscription includes SSL, backups and updates. You edit text and photos yourself in your site’s admin area. If you want us to change a page or add new content, that is not included in hosting.

The amounts exclude VAT. The subscriptions can be cancelled monthly. The Website and Online shop packages already include the first maintenance period mentioned.

The approach is part of the comparison.

Besides the amount, look at who builds the website, how design and content are agreed and what arrangements there are for delivery and maintenance. That way you also compare the collaboration and the support you get.

At TrompTech you deal directly with Jeremy. The structure, look and features are tailored to your business. Hosting and maintenance are described separately, so it is clear what is part of the build and what continues afterwards.

Custom work starts with a separate question.

A customer portal that shows information from your planning requires more than an ordinary website. The same goes for quotes from a catalogue or an online shop that exchanges stock with Exact. With wishes like these, discuss which systems are involved, which data needs to be exchanged and what should happen if something goes wrong.

Custom work usually costs between €3,500 and €12,000. After that comes €249 per month for maintenance, excluding VAT. That is an indication for this type of work. Your situation calls for a concrete proposal.

Make the arrangements clear before the build.

Check which pages and features are delivered, who supplies the content and what maintenance has been agreed. Also ask how a move to another provider works. At TrompTech your domain and content are in your name. For hosting, the website runs on our own systems; if you move, you take everything with you, neatly handed over.

A clear quote shows what you are buying and what will be discussed separately later. That is a better basis than just comparing the lowest amount.

A website from TrompTech costs a one-off €749, €1,495 or €2,495, excluding VAT.
